Doug
Hazlewood
Doug Hazlewood received his Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Music
Education form Texas Christian University. His first teaching
responsibility was in the Fort Worth Public Schools as Band Director at
W. C. Stripling Junior High School. Later, Mr. Hazlewood became the
first Band Director of the Southwest High School in 1967. There, Mr.
Hazlewood and the band received many 1st Division honors including many
outstanding awards at festivals throughout the state.
Mr.
Hazlewood became the Supervisor of Instrumental Music for the Fort
Worth Independent School District in 1967 and remained in
that
position until 1980. He is a widely sought after clinician
and
adjudicator, and continues to conduct and teach through Region and
District Band responsibilities. He enjoys mentoring young Band
Directors who wish to be successful in their career.
Mr.
Hazlewood’s professional affiliations include the Texas
Music Educators
Association as well as the Texas
Bandmasters
Association.
